5 Steps To Speed Up Your Web Browsing

5 steps to speed up your web browsing

Do you find that your computer is fast but your internet browsing is slow? Often the reason for this is because the more you use the internet, the more junk that piles up in the background. This junk will eventually need to be deleted, but unfortunately it doesn’t happen by itself!

Follow these 5 steps to speed up your web browsing:

  1. Check your browser (Chrome, IE, Safari, etc) for unwanted extensions or add-ons. Having these running in the background can severely affect the speed at which your browser runs.

  2. Delete cookies and history and clean your cache (all options available within the settings area of your browser). Doing this can significantly speed up your browsing experience as these things are stored every time you visit a new site.

  3. Try running a hard drive defragmentation within Windows. This will physically organize your hard drives content into a more efficient state – speeding up your computer and your browsing. Search for ‘defrag’ within windows and follow the steps in the application.

  4. Using a third party program called ‘CCleaner’, you can clean up the extra junk that was missed in the first 3 steps. Once you’ve downloaded this program for free, click ‘analyze’ and once completed, click on ‘clean’. This is a quick and efficient tool to sweep up any missed ‘dirt’ within your system.

  5. If you’ve followed the above steps and your internet browsing is still slow, you can reset the browser. Each browser has a different process so the easiest way of doing this is searching for specific instructions on a search engine.

Dealing with a slow internet browser is an annoyance everyone can relate to. The above points are the easiest ways of speeding up your internet browsing. By just following these simple steps, anyone can breathe new life into their internet surfing experience.
